- 掌握空间介词(点 at、线 on/along、面 on、体 in)的逻辑,并明晰其比喻用法。
- 了解介词与普通名词抽象化的相互关系(如 go by bus 与 go by the 5:30 bus 的差异)。
| be | 系动词 / 广义 be 标记 | is / am / are / was / were 是真正的 be 动词;look / feel / seem / become / get 等系动词也按 be 标注 |
- 1 + 2
- 1 + 2 + 3O
- 1 + 2 + 3O + 3O
- 1 + be + 3C
- 1 + 2 + 3O + (be) + 3C
The company is in trouble.
The company1
isbe
in trouble.3C
I leave for London tomorrow.
I1
leave2
for London(4)
tomorrow.(4)
This land is rich in gold.
This land1
isbe
rich3C
in gold.(4)
Tim works slowly at best.
Tim1
works2
slowly(4)
at best.(4)
Come in.
Tim went down to the garden.
Tim1
went2
down(4)
to the garden.(4)
to:是真正的介词,后面接名词短语 the garden 作宾语,构成介词短语to the garden,修饰 went。
Peter has gone over to your house.
Peter1
has gone2
over(4)
to your house.(4)
这里 over 是小品词,修饰 has gone;而 to 是介词,与 your house 构成介词短语。
- Tim slept on the table.
- Jack turned on the light.
Tim slept on the table.
Tim1
slept2
on the table.(4)
Jack turned on the light.
Jack1
turned on2
the light.3O
get over(康复,痊愈)It's only a cold; you will get over it soon.
it必须放在 over 后面,不能写成 get it over)。
you1
will get over2
it3O
soon.(4)
get over 的意思是“从…… 如果看到 get it over with ...
look into(了解,调查)The teacher will look into your problem at once.
The teacher1
will look into2
your problem3O
at once.(4)
take after(长相或性格相似)Peter takes after his father.
Peter1
takes after2
his father.3O
stand by(支持)Don't worry; I will stand by you.
Please stand by.)
come about(发生) ➔ How did this all come about? (这整件事是怎么发生的?)fall off(下跌,变差) ➔ Our business has fallen off badly. go off(爆炸) ➔ The bomb went off in the middle of the night. turn up(出现,出席) ➔ We stopped the game because too few children turned up.
bring up(抚养长大)That woman brought up eight children.
That woman brought eight children up.
That woman brought them up.
brought up them)
That woman1
brought up2
eight children.3O
That woman1
brought2
them3O
up.2'
call off(取消) ➔ The boss has called off the meeting. / The boss has called the meeting off. / The boss has called it off.
The boss has called off the meeting.
The boss1
has called off2
the meeting.3O
The boss has called it off.
The boss1
has called2
it3O
off.2'
代词宾语 it 必须插在中间,所以 has called 与 off 被切成两段,后半段的 off 标 2'。
turn down(拒绝) ➔ I'm going to turn down his offer. / I'm going to turn his offer down. / I'm going to turn it down.
I'm going to turn his offer down.
I1
ambe
going to turn his offer down.3C
主语和动词缩合在一起时(I'm),拆为 I(1)和 am(be);后面的 going to turn his offer down 整体作补语 3C,与第9章的分析一致。
make up(编造,捏造) ➔ He made up a long story. / He made a long story up. / He made it up. (注:不及物 make up 意为“和好”,如:Jack and his friend finally made up.
He made it up.
He1
made2
it3O
up.2'
brought up eight children)→ 整个brought up是一个 2,没有 2'; - 宾语插在中间(
brought them up)→ 前段标 2,后段标 2'。
catch up with(赶上) ➔ Tim slowly catches up with other boys in school.
Tim1
slowly(4)
catches up with2
other boys3O
in school.(4)
drop out of(退出) ➔ Jack hurt his leg and had to drop out of the game.get away with(侥幸逃脱,全身而退) ➔ If you take the money, you can't expect to get away with it.go back on(食言,说话不算数) ➔ I promised my boy a new toy, so I cannot go back on my word now.
┌─┴─┐
│on │ (面:表面)
┌──┴───┴──┐
└─────────┘一、点:at
The bus will stop at the school to pick up children.
We have arrived at the station.
Jack aimed the ball at the wall.
Jack1
aimed2
the ball3O
at the wall.(4)
We1
have arrived2
at the station.(4)
- 辨析 point to 与 aim at:
point to表示“指向某个方向”(to 相当于 toward),而aim at / point at则是把目标当成一个定点进行瞄准。
二、线:on, along
The boy read his book on his way to school.
There are many beautiful houses along the river.
I see three bookstores on this street.
I1
see2
three bookstores3O
on this street.(4)
三、面:on
I looked but couldn't see any boat on the water.
There's a picture hanging on the wall.
The teacher is standing on the floor.
The teacher1
isbe
standing3C
on the floor.(4)
句型:1 + be + 3C
四、体:in
A: I like to stay in my office because it's quiet there.
B: We will meet at my office at three.
I1
like2
to stay in my office3O
because it's quiet there.(4)
We1
will meet2
at my office(4)
at three.(4)
- 在 A 句中,
to stay in my office整体作like的宾语 3O;内部的in my office说明stay的地点。
at。
I think I'll walk; there are too many cars in the street.
in)I see three bookstores on this street.
on)
beneath contempt(字面:在轻蔑之下 ➔ 比喻:令人瞧不起)His bad action is beneath contempt.
beyond my comprehension(字面:在我的理解范围之外 ➔ 比喻:听不懂)What the teacher said is quite beyond my comprehension.
beside the point(字面:在重点的旁边 ➔ 比喻:离题)His answer is quite beside the point.
His answer1
isbe
quite beside the point.3C
within our money / pay(字面:在钱财范围之内 ➔ 比喻:不透支,量入为出)It is sometimes difficult to live within our money.
isbe
sometimes(4)
difficult3C
to live within our money.
at six o'clock(六点)。
at noon(中午),at midnight(半夜),at dinner(晚饭时),at sunrise(日出时),at sunset(日落时)。
at night(在夜里)。
in the morning(在早上),in the evening(在晚上)。
in May(在五月),in summer(在夏天),in 2026(在2026年)。
on Monday(在星期一),on New Year's Day(在元旦),on January 23(在1月23日)。
The accident happened on the morning of June 20.
The accident1
happened2
on the morning of June 20.(4)
apart from / except for:- 表示“除了……
We had no trouble on the way except for a cold day.
还有”(相当于 in addition to):
Apart from a cold day, we also had no food.
as for(表示至于,常用于转换话题或引导对比项目):I don't mind you. As for your friend, he behaves very badly.
This book is for your study only.
I bought the book for ten dollars. -
Are you for the new rules?(你支持新规章吗?)
These shoes are made of rubber.(这双鞋是橡胶做的。)
This country is part of the world.(这个国家是世界的一部分。)
I think of you often.(我常想念你。)
The coming of the bus made the children happy.(公共汽车的到来让孩子们很高兴。)
at:表示“以…… We bought the book at a high price.(我们以高价买了这本书。)The car was going at a high speed.(车子正以高速行驶。)
but(作介词相当于 except,意为“除了”):No one but a fool would do that.
in(表示以……方式/媒介):How do you say that in English?(用英语怎么说?)He signed his name in black ink.(他用黑墨水签了名。)
up to:- 表示“由……
It is not up to me to decide. -
I am not up to this work.
Do you know what Tom has been up to recently? -
This box can weigh up to ten pounds.
over(表示关于“争论”的话题):They are fighting over the toy.
through(表示手段/途径):He passed the test through hard work.
1. between 与 among
The river flows between the two towns.
Our house lies between the school, the park, the garden, and the library.
between)
The river1
flows2
between the two towns.(4)
Among the big schools in our city, our school is the best.
2. except 与 except for
You can all go except Jack.(正确)You can all go except for Jack.(正确)Except for Jack, you can all go.(正确,放句首必须加 for)
3. on 与 about
➔ He wrote a book on the history of China.about:用于非正式或半正式的日常话题。
go to bed (上床睡觉 —— bed 代表睡觉这一抽象状态,不加冠词)
go toward the bed (走向那张床 —— bed 指代具体的那张家具床,必须用 the)
travel by sea (乘船航海旅行 —— sea 代表航海交通方式,不加冠词)
have a house by the sea (在海边有一栋房子 —— sea 指代具体的海洋,必须用 the)
go by bus (搭公车 —— bus 代表乘车交通方式,不加冠词)
go by the 5:30 bus (搭乘五点半的那班公车 —— 特指某班具体车辆,必须用 the)
为什么 go by bus 不加冠词,go by the 5:30 bus 却要加 the?
travel by sea 表示“坐船的方式”,sea 当抽象名词;by the sea 意思是“在海边”,sea 是具体的海,要加 the。
I love to read books with pictures in my free time.
I1
love2
to read books with pictures3O
in my free time.(4)
in my free time当时间副词用,说明 read 的时间,放在句尾。
*The student had to rewrite the homework which she had been doing under the order of the teacher. 【
这里介词短语 under the order of the teacher 放在了整句话的句尾。它既可以修饰主句动词 had to rewrite(老师命令她重写),也可以修饰从句动词 had been doing(她奉老师之命做作业)。
Under the order of the teacher, the student had to rewrite the homework which she had been doing.
The student had to rewrite the homework which, under the order of the teacher, she had been doing.
*I saw that many houses were destroyed by fire on TV. 【
地方状语 on TV 放在句尾,既可以修饰 saw(在电视上看到),也可以修饰 were destroyed(在电视上被烧毁 —— 难道被烧的是电视机?)。
On TV I saw that many houses were destroyed by fire.
On TV(4)
I1
saw2
that many houses were destroyed by fire.3O
